Self Awakening Mission Cow Sewa at Chandigarh Gaushala Sector 45 D serves chara to over 300 cows
Chandigarh, 20 October 2026: Self Awakening Mission volunteers in Chandigarh carried out a Cow Sewa at the Gaushala in Sector 45 D on 20 October 2026. The team served 11 pallis (bundles) of green chara and 100 kgs of feed chara to over 300 cows. The sewa began with a prayer and a kshama prarthna.
Chara for more than 300 cows
The Gaushala in Sector 45 D cares for a large number of cows, and every one of them needs fodder every day. On this day the volunteers served 11 pallis of green chara along with 100 kgs of feed chara.
Feeding cows in this way is a simple act, but it meets a basic need. Regular fodder keeps the animals fed and healthy, and it gives the Gaushala staff some support in their daily work.

A sambose langar for the Gaushala family
Along with the cow feeding, the volunteers organised a sambose langar for all Gau Sewaks, management and staff of the Gaushala. Sharing a meal together is a way of thanking those who look after the animals day after day.
The team of 12 volunteers prepared and served the langar with the same care they gave to the cows. Everyone present joined in the opening prayer and the forgiveness prayer, as is the practice in every Self Awakening Mission sewa.

Why regular Cow Sewa matters locally
Gaushalas in the city depend on people who come back again and again, not only on one-time help. Steady support with fodder and food helps the caretakers plan ahead and keeps the animals well cared for.
Volunteers who serve at a Gaushala learn that patience and respect for the animals are as important as the work itself. Such local sewa builds trust between neighbours and the places that care for animals in their area.
Join the Self Awakening Mission Cow Sewa
This Cow Sewa at Sector 45 D shows what a small team can do when they come together with a clear purpose. Every bundle of chara and every meal shared helps the Gaushala continue its work.
Self Awakening Mission invites people in Chandigarh and nearby areas to join future Cow Sewa activities, either as volunteers or as supporters. Together, such sewa keeps the cows of the community fed and cared for.
