Chandigarh, 15 September 2026: Volunteers associated with Self Awakening Mission Chandigarh organised a Gau Chara Langar Sewa at the Gaushala in Sector 45D, providing green fodder and animal feed for more than 300 cows.

The service began at 11:30 am and included the distribution of 31 bundles of green fodder along with 50 kg of feed for the cows.

A separate samosa langar was also arranged for Gau Sewaks, management representatives and staff working at the Gaushala.

The initiative formed part of Self Awakening Mission’s broader Social Service and animal-welfare activities, with the focus on practical support for both the cattle and the people involved in their daily care.

Chandigarh Gau Seva Supports More Than 300 Cows

The 15 September Chandigarh Gau Seva activity focused on providing useful feed support to the cattle housed at the Sector 45D Gaushala.

Volunteers arranged:

  • 31 bundles of green fodder
  • 50 kg of feed
  • Food support for Gaushala workers and staff

Together, these contributions supported the routine feeding requirements of more than 300 cows.

The activity was organised as a direct animal-welfare initiative rather than a ceremonial event, with resources directed toward the daily needs of the Gaushala.

Green Fodder and Feed Provided at Sector 45D Gaushala

Green fodder is an important part of cattle feeding programmes, while supplementary feed can help diversify the available food supply.

During the programme, 31 bundles of green fodder were supplied along with 50 kg of feed.

By combining both forms of support, volunteers were able to contribute directly to the Gaushala’s animal-care requirements.

This practical approach strengthens the relevance of Gaushala Support Chandigarh and local cow-welfare initiatives.

Animal Welfare Through Regular Community Support

Animal-welfare programmes can be more effective when they address recurring needs rather than operating only as one-off events.

Gaushalas require ongoing support for:

  • fodder
  • supplementary feed
  • animal care
  • cleaning and maintenance
  • staff support
  • basic operational needs

Community-based Cow Welfare Chandigarh initiatives can help supplement these requirements through donations and volunteer participation.

Self Awakening Mission’s Gau Seva activities are designed around such practical needs.

Samosa Langar Organized for Gau Sewaks and Staff

In addition to supporting the cows, volunteers organised a samosa langar for Gau Sewaks, Gaushala management and staff members.

These individuals are involved in the daily care, feeding and maintenance of the animals.

Including them in the programme recognised the human effort required to operate a Gaushala and maintain consistent animal care.

This made the initiative broader than a fodder-distribution activity alone.

13 Volunteers Contributed to the Seva

A total of 13 volunteers contributed to the programme:

Ramesh Kathuria, Manuj, Karun, Sanjay, Kamal, Rohit, Kartik, Renu, Anil, Prakriti, Rajesh, Swarn and Sushil.

Their participation supported the coordination and execution of the Gau Chara Langar Sewa.

Volunteer-led initiatives of this kind demonstrate how relatively small groups can organise direct, measurable support for local animal-welfare organisations.

Volunteer Service Strengthens Local Animal-Welfare Networks

Volunteer Service Chandigarh can support Gaushalas in different ways, including:

  • contributing fodder
  • supplying animal feed
  • assisting with logistics
  • coordinating donations
  • supporting staff
  • participating in periodic Gau Seva programmes

Regular participation can help build stronger relationships between local volunteers and animal-welfare institutions.

This also gives community members a practical way to participate in organised Social Service.

Self Awakening Mission’s Animal Welfare Approach

Self Awakening Mission supports different forms of community welfare through volunteer-led initiatives.

Alongside food distribution, health support, women development and community outreach, animal welfare forms another part of its wider Social Service activities.

Gau Seva programmes focus on direct assistance to Gaushalas through fodder, feed and related support.

The Chandigarh programme demonstrates this practical approach through clearly identifiable contributions to the Sector 45D Gaushala.

Sanjiv Malik and Service-Oriented Community Participation

Self Awakening Mission’s broader service activities are associated with the guidance and service vision of Sanjiv Malik, while individual programmes are implemented locally through volunteers.

The Chandigarh initiative reflects this decentralised model: local volunteers identified a practical area of support and collectively contributed resources for more than 300 cows.

This helps connect spiritual values with measurable community and animal-welfare action.

Spiritual Inspiration With Practical Social Service

The service was organised with spiritual inspiration associated with Shri Guru Maharaj Ji, while the public-facing outcome remained practical and measurable.

The programme delivered:

  • green fodder
  • animal feed
  • support for more than 300 cows
  • food for Gaushala workers and staff
  • coordinated volunteer participation

Self Awakening Mission thanked all volunteers and contributors involved in the programme.

The activity concluded with gratitude to everyone who supported the initiative.

Jai Sachidanand Ji.
